Wasted day - Thursday

Today was a day where we didnt really achieve much at all.

Leannes cough has returned with a vengance and neither of us got much sleep last night. So the first task today was to find a quack to have a look. We were directed to the Mary Hewetson Cottage Hospital, a local walk in and rehab clinic. The staff we really nice and helpful and confirmed that her lungs were clear, and prescribed a steroid inhaler to try and get the cough under control - its probably Leanne's post-Covid cough revved up after her infection a few weeks ago and hopefully the inhaler will help.

Next step was to get the prescription filled - and of course neither of the local pharmacies had it in stock. So we headed 20 minutes down the road in Grasmere, where a tiny village pharmacy had some.

Through all this the rain just plummeted down in a steady downpour. This continued all day - we've had 17mm today.

Given the weather, which meant we couldnt see much or get out in the rain with Leanne's cough, we decided to have a quiet drive to Windermere via Ambleside. It's a very pretty drive (from what we could see 😕) and both towns a also really quaint.

We lunched in Windermere and headed home.

The weather was so miserable, and we were suffering from inadequate sleep, so we decided not to tour further, and simply relaxed this arvo.
