Touristing and Swearing - Sunday
We decided to spend the day just wandering around London doing the touristy thing. One thing we did want to do was take the London Eye for the bird's eye view.
We first had to drop off the car at Heathrow, which was simple as we were only a few km from it. We then hopped on the new Elizabeth Line for a smooth ride into Tottenham Court tube station. We then strolled down to the Thames via Trafalgar Square and along to the Eye.
After a short wait and bag search we were away. Leanne was very brave given there was glass to the floor - she took photos from up against the window and didn't faint!
The view is great from 135m.
We wandered back into town and had a very nice Italian lunch and then back to the Thames via St James's Park.
Ee then hopped on the ferry up to the Tower of London (which we visited last time we were in London) and the Tower Bridge.
We strolled over the bridge, which was closed to traffic. As we reached the far side they opened the bridge to let a sailing vessel through.
By the it was time to head home, so walked up to Tower Hill Station as recommended by both Google and Transport for London (TfL) as the best route. No go - the line was closed for the weekend $%&@/. OK, so next choice is catch a bus to Liverpool Station. No go - buses had been re-routed due to the bridge closure &*#@%$/. So, we walk to Aldgate, catch the train one stop and transfer to the Elizabeth Line. Finally we collapsed and rested our feet for the journey. Not happy with TfL
We arrived at West Drayton foot sore after over 20,000 steps (including lots of steps) and just happened to wander past the local, so dropped in for a drink. The pub was owned by Indiana so we endednup with a snack of onion bahji and garlic naan before dragging ourselves the last 0.5km back to the flat.

Fantastic day with great photos.
