Cotswalds - Saturday

Saturday dawned bright and sunny - a first for our holiday.  The view from our semi-rural B&B was lovely and green in the sunlight.

After a very nice cooked breakfast (for me at least) we headed out to tour some of the suposedly most attractive Cotswalds villages, and they mostly didnt disappoint.

First off was Lower Slaughter. We got there well before the hoards and strolled through some very quiet streets.

Our B&B host had directed us on how to walk for Lower to Upper Slaughter, so we headed off for the 15-20 minute cross-country walk.

Upper Slaughter was absolutely beautiful with a lovely mix of old buildings.

Once we walked back to Lower Slaughter,  we hopped in the car and headed for Broadway. It is a very different town with a lovely wide main street, filled with shops. Again, we wandered the streets (Leanne found a Xmas shop, but balked at the tourist-laden prices), and had a stop for a cuppa & apple juice.

From Broadway we headed for Moreton-on-Marsh but it was chaos, with no parking and people everywhere, so we kept moving.

We then headed to Kingham, but it didn't appear to be particularly special,  so we headed home after a long day out.

On the way we drove through Broughton-on-Water and it was chaos too. Obviously sunny weekends are very popular.

It was so busy we headed to a tiny village called Cold Aston and hit the Plough Inn for a drink in the beer garden.

The Plough Inn is also a high quality beef restaurant, so we booked for dinner and had a very tasty steak dinner.
